Mariah is approved by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage & FamilyTherapist Board as a counselor in training. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from Cedarville University and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in
Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. She is a member of the American
Counseling Association, Association for Child & Adolescent Counseling, and American and
Ohio Play Therapy Associations. She is also a member of the Rho Eta Nu Gamma chapter of the Chi Sigma Iota International Counseling Honor Society.
Mariah’s former background includes work with children and students. Mariah was drawn to the mental health field through her experiences serving incarcerated teenagers, discipling high school girls as a youth leader, and teaching students as an elementary teacher. Throughout her time in the classroom, Mariah’s passion grew for advocating and caring for students beyond academics. She echoes the words of Ann Voskamp: “Shame dies when stories are told in safe spaces.” Mariah desires to meet clients where they are at with a non-judgemental therapeutic approach.
