Mikaela is approved by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board as a Licensed Independent Social Worker (License# I.2204085). She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Miami University and a Masters in Social Work from The Ohio State University. Mikaela is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, Catholic Social Workers National Association, Ohio Association of Play Therapy chapter, and founding member of the International Association for Sandtray Therapists.

Mikaela specializes in empowering children and families on their path toward healing. She is excited to be working toward becoming a Registered Play Therapist. Mikaela is an Internationally Credentialed Sandtray Therapist (ICST), which is an intervention tool that has been shown to be effective with both children and adults. She has also completed Level 1 training of Theraplay, an attachment-based play therapy model. Her prior experience includes community-based mental health with children and families, workforce development for youth with disabilities, and prevention groups for school-aged children. Mikaela strives to provide a non-judgmental, supportive therapeutic atmosphere. She invites a spiritual aspect to counseling if clients are interested, as she believes it can be impactful in their journey.

Mikaela finds joy in spending quality time with family and friends, incorporating faith into fitness, and traveling with her favorite people to see the beauty of God’s creation. She loves reading, journaling, and listening to podcasts. Mikaela also dedicates her time to serving with various ministries in the Columbus community. She attends church at St. Christopher in Grandview.
