Melissa is our Office Administrator and has been a valued member of Spirit of Peace Clinical Counseling since April 2018. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from Mount Vernon Nazarene University and spent ten years as an elementary school teacher before taking some time off to homeschool her five children. Upon returning to work outside the home, Melissa felt called to a new path in the helping profession, specifically in the field of mental health. She has completed several graduate-level courses through University of Phoenix and Liberty University as she works towards her Master’s Degree in Counseling. While she may one day become a counselor herself, Melissa is currently really enjoying connecting with new clients through intake and scheduling, and she takes great delight in working alongside and supporting our team of counselors.

Personal

Outside of work, Melissa treasures time with her husband, adult children and adored animals. She enjoys a variety of hobbies, including traveling, reading, sewing, painting, singing, watching movies, hiking and camping. Her favorite place to be is on the beach with a good book.  Melissa is active in her church, serves as a team leader on the guest services team, leads a women’s Life Group and is deeply passionate about sharing the good news of Jesus through numerous mission trips across the globe, traveling to many U.S. States as well as France and Guatemala.
